| Pattonville senior earns National Merit Scholarship |

Pattonville High School senior Anjali Fernandes is the winner of one of 2,500 National Merit Scholarships recently announced. She earned a $2,500 scholarship financed by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Fernandes plans on pursuing a career in public policy and will attend Harvard University. Fernandes was one of 15,000 National Merit Finalists this year. Only slightly more than half of those finalists go on to earn scholarships.

| Pattonville High School honors its Top 10 seniors |

Pattonville High School recognized the school’s Top 10 seniors (based on grade point average as of the end of the first semester) during its spring pep assembly. The event also enabled the school to recognize students who earned awards for academic pursuits, spring sports and following the Pirate Code to be respectful, responsible and involved. Pattonville staff presented the Top 10 students with T-shirts from the universities they will attend next fall.

| Open swims at Pattonville Aquatic Complex set for May 11, June 1 and 22 |

Residents of the Pattonville School District are invited to experience the new pool at Pattonville High School through a series of community swims in May and June. Open swims for the community are scheduled from 8 to 11 a.m. on the following Saturdays: May 11 and June 1 and 22 at the Pattonville Aquatic Complex. The fee to participate, which covers the costs of paying for lifeguards, is $1 for students and senior adults (ages 55 and up) and $2 for adults.

| Missouri governor recognizes Pattonville for selection in grant program |

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon visited Pattonville High School on April 22 to recognize the school for being selected as an Innovation High School - a designation that enables Pattonville students to connect to high-demand jobs through college credit, apprenticeships and internships while still in high school.

Pattonville High School was ranked in the Top 20 high schools in Missouri and the Top 10 percent of high schools in the nation on U.S. News and World Report's 2013 Best High Schools Ranking List. Pattonville was ranked No. 19 out of 560 high schools in Missouri and No. 1,914 out of more than 21,000 public high schools in the U.S.
