16 Pattonville student athletes sign letters for college athletics |

Sixteen student athletes from Pattonville High School signed letters of intent to play college-level athletics as part of National Signing Day on Feb. 7. Many received scholarship offers as part of their signing agreements.
What follows is a list of Pirate athletes who signed their letters on Feb. 7:
In addition, several members of the Pattonville varsity football team signed letters to play football at the college level. The team ended its season by placing second in the Class 5 state championship, marking the team’s first conference title since 1999, its first district title since 2007 and its first state championship game appearance since 2000. The Pirate football players who signed letters of intent included the following:
Four Pirate varsity football players signed as "preferred walk ons" for Iowa Central Community College. Though the agreements do not include a scholarship, the students will play football for Iowa Central. They are: Jarran Barber, who earned All-Conference Honorable Mention for football; Kameron Perkins, who earned All-Conference First Team in track; Mario Rowland, who earned All-Conference Second Team for football and All-Conference Second Team for basketball after his team was named Class 5 District 3 champions last spring; and Larry Washington, who played for the championship Pirates basketball team in addition to football.
In December, Pirate quarterback Kaleb Eleby signed to play for Western Michigan University and has since graduated from Pattonville. He was named to the All-American Large School Football Team, had the All-American Performance of the Year for his 410-yard passes and five touchdowns in the state championship game and was named All-State First Team, All-Metro Second Team, All-District First Team, All-Conference First Team and Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
