For the first time since December 2019, an in-person concert was held at Holman Middle School. The sixth, seventh and eighth grade Villemade and in-person band students took a “field trip” to Gym A to perform for one another.
Pattonville hosted an online presentation with infectious disease expert Dr. Jason Newland on May 18. During the event, Newland provided an update on COVID-19 and the results of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) program that included the Pattonville school community in studying COVID-19 transmission and mitigation strategies in schools.
As mentioned in the presentation, Pattonville is partnering with the CDC, St. Louis University and Washington University to offer free COVID-19 testing for the Pattonville community. Tests are saliva-based and do not require nasal swabbing. Testing will be conducted from the patient's car and is available Sundays through Fridays. Results are typically available in 24 to 48 hours. To request a test, call (314) 454-4269.
Pattonville High School held a Senior Celebration during all lunches on May 12 and 13.
“We're celebrating the seniors and all of their plans for next year, whether that's college, the military, or starting a work career,” college and career preparation counselor Michelle Luraschi said.
National College Decision Day was May 1, but Pattonville’s version had more of a focus on celebrating all seniors for making it through this difficult time and less on where they are going to school for the next four years.
Each year, the Pattonville High School Art Department offers Seniors the opportunity to display their artwork in a Senior Art Show at the end of the year. Our virtual format can reach a larger audience, so we are doing that again this year. Seniors who have taken many art classes are also offered the opportunity to submit their art portfolios for review by the Art faculty. This is the way Senior awards are chosen in the Art Department. The Art Department is pleased to spotlight the work of the 5 Finalists for the title of "Outstanding Senior Artist" for 2021 in this show, along with other Seniors who have submitted one or more pieces of their work.
