Heights students jumping at the chance to learn

Students at Pattonville Heights Middle School went to great lengths to figure out how to determine jump distance on other planets. After creating a hypothesis concerning the relationship between jump distance and gravitational force, students in Ms. Terri Sallee’s science class went outside and measured their jump distance three times using meter sticks.

After determining their average length of jump, they divided that number by the gravity factor and mass of other planets. They then looked for patterns on their charts before turning in an assignment.
